Gift giving shouldn’t necessarily be associated with certain events of life, say birthday, anniversary, and so on and so forth! Neither does it have to measure up to someone’s status i.e Maybe they have everything and so your gift won’t mean anything.
I remember a time a lady walked into our store, and she was like “I wish to get him something, (it was a metaled bookmark with a message on it) but he has it all, this will just be a waste.” And so, I told her that if gifting was entirely based on the angle of lacking, then Kings wouldn’t be gifted.
Growing up I came across a quote that I can’t remember what it said but what it meant had changed my gifting mindset. From that day forward my gifting turned out to mean “When I saw ________, I thought of you, Or I felt it’d look good on you”. I then became a gifting fascinator and it never mattered anymore how much one was worth, but also haven’t been careless in my gift picking. You may even put it; Gifting became one of my love languages .
Herein is a sweet reminder that your gifting should have everything to do with your Thoughtfulness to the person you are giving it to rather than their excesses or the value attached to it.
And it may surprise you that the people who are for us, for you, are more swayed by our hearts behind the giving which is interpreted to be the thoughtfulness and hardly on the value of what was given. Again, I say, this shouldn’t be your ticket to be reckless in choosing your gift
What’s that thing that you hesitated to get for your someone, simply because you thought, well…. GO GET IT!
